All I know is that this year has a very classic feel to it. Many of the songs have a "classic soca" feel to them.
I am a huge fan of early soca and I am thoroughly enjoying this year's contributions.

Unfortunately, I have not heard any 2009 calypso yet. I guess I'll have to wait until well after the monarch competitions to hear when my granny sends the tapes.
Someone start up a site with current calypso like toronto-lime has for soca nah? I'll give you... a corn soup?

Out of all Faye Ann's songs I think 'Heavy T' is the better song for road march.

Machal is in the running, as well as Patrice.

Nah I don't think 'Heavy T' is road march material. 'Meet Super Blue' is more suited for the road. Machel has two good contenders, 'Won't Stop' and 'Wild antz'. I think 'Wild Antz' will win but I also like Iwer George's 'Ready".
