The Mannings seem to be on the defensive, when they should be coasting to an easy victory at the polls. Poor Hazel gave the crowd a definition of a dictator which sounded an awful lot like her failed geologist husband and Prime Minister, Patrick Manning. Just look at her words... complete power ( Valley just wet his diapers )...shared power ( with whom? )... a person who acts unfairly and cruelly ( Ocah, Bas, Sharma, and all those who he tried to shaft and lost to in the courts ). Sounds like a frikking dicktator to me!
http://www.guardian.co.tt/news8.html
Education Minister Hazel Manning, at a PNM public meeting in Tunapuna Friday night, defended her husband, PM Minister Patrick Manning, against claims that he was a dictator.
Saying a dictator was a ruler who has complete power and not shared power and was a person who acts unfairly and cruelly, she asked the crowd:
As for Manning talking about these elections will not be about race for the first time, and yet he is bringing up race to try and impress Indians about his "new" PNM team. All of a sudden he has a craving for more dhal and less pig tail in his food.
He also told supporters that he was pleased with the composition of the new PNM team in terms of gender and race.

If Manning is not a dictator in the making, then based on the following characteristics what is he?
1. Lack of accountability
2. Nepotism
3. Dictatorial governance (executive presidency, removal of ministers)
4. Corruption
5. Collusion with criminals
6. Racism
7. Favouritism

So lazy is not a term to describe me.
The PNM is all inclusive and they have never stopped anyone from prospering. If people want to sit on their backsides and not try to aspire or achieve then that is a matter for them.
The PNM cares about people first and foremost unlike the UNC leadership which is clearly engaged in their own sense of self admiration, lust for power and greed.....thank Panday and friends for living up to a particular stereotype that only their supporters find acceptable.....because no one else does.

Anything is better than ah jokey basketball scholarsh!t! :P :P I know none of my children will pull ah Brian Manning stunt and expect the people of T&T to sponsor any their hairbrain bidness ventures. One of the first lessons they were taught was to be self sufficient and not drink from the dependency well. I wouldn't waste my time and mention the word shame because I'd be talking ah foreign language to allyuh.
I do hope you have ah concience because you are taking bread out of some poor black person's mouth in T&T, based on the poverty report that was recently published in the newspapers. It certainly doesn't bode well for Afro-Trinis in ah PNM Trinidad, as they make up the majority of poor people.

wow! I'm shocked to see this posted on this board. Of course i know that all the usual postes with their closet racist sentiments will stay real quiet on this thread and ignore what is being pointed out.
The irony of all this is how easily this will resonate with the misguided middle-class COP supporters.
They've branded any and all PNM supporters as illiterate, idiotic, criminal or greedy who should be either converted or eliminated. Meanwhile they remain blissfully unaware of some of the powerful "business" and monied influencers waiting in the wings for a COP victory so they can more easily pull the strings behind the scenes.
Without doubt, the visible urban-afro-crime problem needs to be addressed, but there must be short and long term measures from the top and the bottom.
I have not heard any cohesive set of measures from the COP on this, even with their so-called powerhouse crime team and crime plan.
For instance, the national security minister, in an interview, acknowledged that a big part of the crime problem is with the "unseen and untouchale" big-boys who control the drugs and guns. He claims that they remain largely untouchable due to difficulty in obtaining evidence based on existing laws and that this is being adressed to the extent possible.
My concern is, will the COP and UNC in opposition or in powere promote and support legislation to go after the bigboys, or will they cry intrusion of privacy and human-rights violations?
Here in T&T we want to have our cake and eat it, blame everyone else and complain.
Panday once said he'd make this place ungovernable. I sometimes wonder if it isn't already so!

Is fifty years more or less of PNM governance two oil/gas booms and oil now 80US a barrel and people still lying down sick on the bare concrete floor in stink hospitals.
The PNM support base is still living in squalor born of dependency on the handouts of their political masters from the treasury. They still breeding unwanted children whose only graduation is from knife to gun and more and more serious crimes. Barely literate the parents pass on the same attitude to education to these children and the vicious cyle continues. Does Manning and the PNM speak to them in these terms? I dont think so? Hazel was more interested in telling them that Patrick will never leave she doh mine what de people say, because she sweet.
And the PNM base says "we prepared to eat grass under PNM" "we like it so.
I saw Bill Cosby on CNN and what the PNM should be telling their base is what he was telling the African Americans, about teenagers who cant take care ofthemselves making children and the vicious cycle continues so that the PNM base can be replenished, and they say "we like it so"

The fact remains that yuh wonderful PNM party hosted their community leader frineds at crowne plaza instead of locking they arse up in jail, amd no matter who else involved in crime, weather it be coke on monos island or car stealing in de bamboo, or whatever, does not change the fact that the PNM does not have the political will to deal with their community leader friends, and that is the only point I am making and nothing you wrote above changes that fact.

Patrick is not a rookie politician or Prime Minister, having been around for donkey years. He was blessed with an energy based economy, unlike the tourism based economies of our West Indian neighbours.

DT you reall feel PNM supporters care about poverty in this country the only thing they care about is to keep PNM in power and as they say on the radio vote PNM to protect the treasury imagine that Manning wasting billions of dollars they have nothing to show for it but they love PNM.
I heard Lennox Smith on the radio the UNCA candidate for LFL movement he was talking about in this day and age there is something called "Skying" in Laventille and that is where person defecate in gazette paper and sky it down the hill, I could not believe what I was hearing, no running water, no sewerage facilities for these people after 40 years of PNM rule and they still die hard PNM's.
Simply because they don't want any Indian PM again, they rather live under the squalor of the PNM, fighting for an end once the PM of this country is reflective of their race.

Baby King,
You keep harping about my son who dropped out of high school, because he was bored with the curiculum. When he abruptly left school he was in a program for gifted kids and most likely would have received a "real" scholarship to attend one of Toronto's better universities. In your case, the son of the Prime Minister and a woman "smart" enough to later be appointed the Education Minister, and all your faddah could weasel for yuh was ah basketball schol. Now that sh!t is funny! What does that say about you as a student? BTW, my son can buy you with a week's earnings at his company.

Breds, you hit the PNM over and over about petty excuses. Let me tell you that being 'bored with the ciriculum' is the lamest excuse I have ever heard. Call a spade a spade: he messed up. It happens.
What I find hilarious is that you want to hit everyone's acadmic qualifications when an individual in your care has none. In a program for gifted children? Who cares? I guess the next time I interview someone at my company and they tell me that they didnt write Os or As but took some courses I should give them a smiley face on my evaluation? Ha! The only thing that gets respect is if you graduated, nobody cares if you started the program or not. Instead of belting out your racist nonsense spend more time focusing on the one person you had control over and failed. It must really burn your eyes to see Afros with more than a high school education :D ; that is the yolk you have put around your own neck. Handle your business, I am certainly handling mine. ;)

King the next time you go up to Laventille go ask them what the UNC did for them, if they want to be honest they will tell you. Some of Panday own Indian people have fallen out with him because they blame him for doing too much for other races than his own. When UNC take vat off of some food stuff, or build police stations, fixed road, put new bills in the house and so on was that only for Indian people.
You talk about Caroni, when UNC built the Desal plant all yuh come on here and cuss cry thief, that is nonsense it wont help the water problem now Manning not building one he wants to build three, why if it was such a bad idea what makes it so good under PNM now? When UNC made is possible for poor people to be able to buy a car how come PNM never cared when we all had to line up and bribe salesmen to get cars, they never thought that the poor man needed a car also.
When UNC discovered the school book racket and stopped the PNM nonsense that was not for poor people, for years PNM condemned 11 yr olds to the feeling that they were duncy, children crying when they did not get a spot in a school PNM cared then, it was the UNC that came and fixed that ensure there was a place for all.
When the same Baptist that use to follow Eric all over the place wanted a piece of land for their church or a holiday like everyone else, what happen to PNM the Baptist movement was great supporters of the PNM but who helped them not PNM it was the UNC, it was Panday.
Which government was it that made a black woman the first acting PM of this country not PNM the party of hope for black people it was the UNC, it was Panday so don't come on here and pretend that UNC did nothing for the poor or black people to me they do a dam lot more for the black support then PNM which is supposed to be a predominately black party, which wins election year after years trading on the fact that the PNM is a black people party.

What is the relevance of those two blogs?
Outlaw got crude, lewd and badly written....people checked it once and a while to catch the freakshow, but it didn't really have fans.
Ole Blag seems more coherent, but still full of rubbish. I just check it now, he says there is a police station diary with info on Anand Ramlogan and a goat......Gillian Lucky is lesbian....and Dookeran is a "hen". So cheap "jokes" and slack talk, but nothing that reflects how most people talk.
Its relevance lies in the sad truth that there are people who would put garbage like that out there knowing fully well that they will have an audience ready to gobble it up.
Whenever you hear someone crying race race race it is because they have the bigger problem with it and that colours every aspect of their thinking.
this race card gettin old yes

Oh God boy.......lighten up!
Why you taking all of this thing personal so?
Life will go on....so if you get a little picong just throw back some. All I ask is that you do it with as much wit as possible.
The "two degrees of stupidity" line was a good one. I really enjoyed it.....btw I am doing my PhD thesis outline now so you may have to update that line in about 3 years or so.
On a slightly different slant.....I was in Guyana for a couple of days last week and I could not get over the fact of the race/ethnic tensions and hostility that exists in that place. The sad reality is that it occurs only between the locals. If you are from outside everyone wants to be your friend irrespective of if you are of a different race/ethnic group. They all complain of the same thing....race relations (or lack of) is what is holding back their country. So in a nutshell everyone knows what the problem is but no one wants to deal with the solution. This is something that we must always be vigilant of in TnT.
So Scorpio, if after the heat of the campaign is over and you are not fasting or anything feel free to send a message and we can go and discuss the outcome over a couple of drinks....that is of course if you are of legal drinking age.....(I could not help myself with that last little dig!!!)

Days after November 6th, the politics board will start to cool off and all the forumites will disperse into other sections. I hope ppl like Maccogirl and The Light take the initiative to come into other forums and make comments there. By the way meh eh no prophet eh.....lol..... :D :D :D :D

What's amazing is how you are trying to appoint Manning for sainthood in the process. Allyuh PNMites refuse to see your own tails. From having extramarital affairs resulting in outside chirren to many questionable dealings during his political career, Patrick is the one to fear. Warner has made his money as a businessman, while Patrick believes that he is the sole owner of the business called the republic of T&T.

Ah know some of allyuh go feel shame to know what Jack Warner really doing behind closed doors......All what you talking about Manning have extra martial affairs......until you have physical proof that he did so, it doh make sense trying to convince me and others that he really did alot of bad things for this country. Somebody,
This is what Mr Warner had to say on this matter. After reading Jack's response, I could see why this is just another case of sour grapes. Mr Jennings should take his grouse to Scotland Yard, if he has such a strong case against our fellow Trini.

Warner’s Response To Mc Beth’s Latest Allegation.
October 23rd, 2007.
FIFA Vice President Jack Warner today issued a brief response to allegations made against him.
“I have nothing much to say except to say that the statement is a patent lie issued by someone whom I got removed from the FIFA Ex Co and whose memory has suddenly come to life.
Let the public judge for itself both the person who is making that statement and the journalist who is writing it and join the dots.”
Mc Beth, in May this year, claimed "poor nations" in Africa have different ethics from the British "fair play" attitude.
Mc Beth said: "As soon as you hit Africa it's a slightly different kettle of fish. They're poor nations and want to grab what they can.
I know two or three whom I'd want to count my fingers after shaking hands with them.
"I presume the Caribbean is much the same - they just come at it in a different way."
Meantime, last week CONCACAF also issued a release stating: “Panorama's letters to Jack Warner and Chuck Blazer asking whether England can expect Fair Play in a potential bid to host World Cup 2018 are truly curious given that Warner and Blazer are the only two remaining members of the FIFA Executive Committee of the original five that voted for England's previous World Cup bid (for 2006).
“The other three, Charlie Dempsey (New Zealand with Scottish birth), David Will (FIFA Vice President from the British Associations) and Isaac Sasso Sasso (Costa Rica, also from CONCACAF) no longer sit on the decision making body.
Dempsey left shortly after his refusal to vote in the round following England's elimination for 2006, while Will and Sasso retired from the FIFA body this year.
Certainly, if anyone personifies fair play towards England, Warner and Blazer, who supported England's 2006 bid and in doing so stood against the 19 other members opposed, are the ones.
Panorama might have asked instead, will it be Fair Play if CONCACAF, the Confederation next in sequence for rotation of World Cup hosts, is denied the right for one of its members to host 2018 in favor of another system instigated by the desire of others to overturn a policy intended to establish fairness?” the release added.

Somebody,
Jack Warner wasn't the one responsible for the many travel warnings in the foreign press, you know like this http://www.caribbeannetnews.com/2005/10/14/issue.shtml.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad: The British, Canadian and United States governments have all issued travel advisories warning its citizens traveling to Trinidad and those already in the country to be cautious against violent attacks.
Reports are that all such travel advisories to Trinidad will remain in effect until further notice.
The travel advisories have come in the wake of what the countries consider as a continuous and growing pattern of violent crimes against locals as well as foreigners.
Trinidad under your Manning government, has an unenviable reputation for kidnappings and murder. I think that fact would have played out worst on the international stage.
