There's this academic quiz show that I'm trying out for but I feel really nervous about: http://www.celtelafricachallenge.com/info.asp.
I spent hours reading some encyclopaedias at the local library but still feel unprepared. I passed (luckily) the first try-out, but I have a feeling that I'm going to loose the second one which is set for this coming Wednesday. :o
Furthermore I know nothing about sports, classical literature, current events and pop music. I'm told there's a similar version of the show involving Carribbean countries which has been around for much longer. I need advice (or even lessons :( )fast!!!

Your Quizz shows sounds like jeopardy. I dont know that we have a caribbean version, but then again, i doh really watch tv. The only advice I have to share is the use of Redbull. Use it and not only does it keep u up and alert, what would have taken u 2 hours to read and absorb, u do in half the time. I swear by it!

I made the team and we'll be up against 15 other universities this coming Thursday. I'm still nervous though, and all my friends whom I turn to for help are just asking for a share of the prize money. :(
Red bull? !!! I would never have thought of that, but I'll proceed with caution in adopting that piece of advice
*I was told of the Caribbean version by a Jamaican Penpal.

Just got back from the quiz show. We lost, in fact my team was the first to be eliminated. With some teams answering everything right I wondered if life is at all fair.At one point I totally lost it and shouted out loud at the the guy who was asking the questions.
We travelled 12 hours by bus back to the university. I still feel the pain and disappointment, so intense. It was a complete loss, we were put up in a nice hotel with dishes I couldn't pronounce...that was the sole consolation.
Well, you did your best Peri,
now you have experience to help the next year's group through to getting on the show and getting used to answering questions quickly on telivision.

Thanks for the encouragement there. I finally did get over the whole fiasco, at least we got the experience. Got some 3 photos of the event below, the day we made the 12 hour trip on hellish roads to the capital and the day of the quiz:
