this is REALLY irritating.

i hearing about who represented who at the closure of tanteak.
who fight for rasterfarians to get vegetarian meals in prison.
who fight for the disabled and that it was pro bono.
who fight for faith williams.
who represented 'criminals' and 'drug lords'.

for heaven's sake - leave your professional business OFF the blasted campaign trail.

yuh want to talk about legal issues that affect the electorate? cool. no scene. but we doh want to hear what yuh do for who and how much money yuh take in your capacity as an attorney-at-law, and we definately doh want to hear you criticizing other people for representing their clients in the course of their duties as an attorney-at-law.

But I find all's fair in politics. Dig up all the dirt. Make all the accusations. Pplbuy into images at this time so if u could sell yourself as a saviour, why not? If u could make the other side into a bad guy, then why not? I dont think any party could win an election on discussing issues alone, nobody interested in that. So sell your image too!

If as part of your profession you can demostrate that what you do, have achieved and its benefits to the wider community could stand you in good stead to represent the people then it is important to know.

Its like your CV in going for a job. Tell me what you done, what you study, how you go about doing it and then I can decide if I choosing you for the job.

Lawyers seem to be attracted to politics, because they are trained to present a case, they demonstrate their ability to defend the rights of people and they seem to have a lot of contacts in society.

i agree with dispatcher..its a way of showing what you've done and what you can do for others based on their history. For some they are new to politics so there is no other way they can try to convince the electorate that they are going to be of some use to them..its up to us to decide.
