CONGRESS of the People Political Leader Winston Dookeran, in a somewhat shocking statement, says his party may give T&T its first female Prime Minister.

Dookeran made the statement yesterday on a COP Women’s platform on the Helping Hand Ground in St Augustine.

He did not elaborate on his proposition that if the COP wins at the polls on November 5, one of its female candidates may take the helm as Prime Minister.

Instead, he said the COP’s decision was justified, since the women in the party gave birth to the fastest-growing political organisation in the region.

So we don't know who or when. Maybe if he loses his seat.

But all them COP supporters saying they not voting UNCA because they don't know who will be PM. But Dookeran seem to suggest that anyone from his party could be PM and most likely it would be woman. Any guesses?

I wonder if he just saying that because he was at the CoP's women's platform?

If he can't win St. Augustine then no other COP members stand a chance anywhere else. So why talk about woman PM?

Doesnt matter if he doesnt win his seat, once they get a majority. So why he coming with this dotishness now? I hate these stupid guessing games.

He knows he not winning his seat, I don't think he has any men as his DP so it can be the new leader is one from this pack.

Deputy Political Leader - Wendy Lue Yuen

Deputy Political Leader - Rawatee Sharma-Maharaj

Deputy Political Leader - Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan

A woman on top is always a good proposition.

Is Dookeran going to step down if he wins the election? Is that what he is saying or just talking because he feels it sounds good I agree he has to explain what he means and just not leave it in the air and hanging, but then he did add a key word MAY

I seriously doubt it's Hulsie judging from past conversations I had with the man. I agree he needs to expand a bit more on this point though.

ah hope she know tht its not gonna be her. Although seriously i think that its just another political tactic. If and i mean IF the UNC win and does appoint a female PM it might just be for another 10days until they give it to Bas or RLM, heck i cld even go for Jack being PM

Really, who is she kidding? Is this a frail attempt at reversing the accusations that UNCA is patriarchal?
