Would it be a fair comment to say that Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj who is a big time brahmin to boot, has such a thirst for power that it makes him devoid of integrity, scruples or morals, and that thirst for power has now caused him to eat his own vomit?

Why should any sane person vote for him?

I guess that would depend on what side of the fence you're on at this point. Politics make for strange bedfellows and apparently he is back in favor with Panday after almost ruining his career.

Personally I see him as an opportunist and willing to knock anyone aside in his thirst for power. I still remember the fallout for when Kamla was appointed acting PM instead of him while Panday was out of the country.

I still blame him for killing the second UNC administration though he was asking for Panday to look into corruption on the airport project which Panday was reluctant to do. That was an admirable cause but the way RLM acted afterwards took away from the message he was trying to convey.

The bugbear to opposition unity has been Panday and Ramesh who are both equally responsible for the UNC being in opposition today, and if Panday is willing to "sleep with the devil father" to beat the PNM, stepping aside was easier,I think. There would have been several options made available to him I am sure , but it seems that for him "sleeping with the devil father" is easier than stepping aside inthe interest of opposition unity and removing the ominously threatening dictator Manning and his PNM from office.
For the mere reason that I have already given Panday several kicks at the pan, no pun intended, with my support from being a foundation member of both the ULF and the UNC, with my cards to prove this, I believe that I have the right to say to my dear comrade that he has carried the battle courageously and long and it is now time to give way to the younger stronger ones, but it seems a boxer must be defeated in the ring before he finally gives up.

I believe she did .
That is typical Panday thinking .If Panday cannot have the PM ship , then none whom he think he have groomed can have it .
Panday prefer to see Manning as PM instead of Dookeran .
That is something for the undecided and UNC suporters to think about !

Well, I guess I have to agree with Panday then

Dookeran cannot lead. He is too weak. Give me a strong, proven leader like Manning over de duck-and-run anyday.

If you think Dookeran too weak , think again.
Because of Dookeran , Panday will never be PM again !
Let me know if you want me to repeat that !

Panday may not be PM again but Dook not making it back into the red house, he now runs the chance of even losing his deposit so which worse, to end up in opposition or to be the laughing stock of the nation? What Dooks is going to go around and say because of his leadership he prevented the UNCA from forming the next government great tell him go ahead and if in event Manning happens to really become a dictator we will all thanks Dooks for that

The blind UNC supporters....
This is not just Ramesh HiJacking the opposition this time, it is both Panday and Ramesh. Tabaquite is but one seat out of 41, and the disproportionate emphasis that is being placed on it by the UNC leads one to wonder who is really paying the piper..... Manning has played his his greatest red herring to date by paying off those who can be bought!
So continue to be blinded by your lust for what is absolutely unattainable...
Those of us who have the best interests of TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO at heart will certainly not be swayed by free rum and roti.
Cheers!

Ramesh is one of the biggest hyprocrites there is in Politics. What makes it even worse is that he can smile and say his crap as if he believes we really believes it! HE is a dangerous man that needs to be stopped

I don't know how you all cannot see the strategy for welcoming back ramesh into the party
its 2 fold

1. keep me (panday) out of prison
2. get them (pnm) on corruption and get them good. if allyuh think allyuh see handcuffs with unc officials wait...

this is almost guaranteed to happen should the unca win the elections.

I thought I posted on this thread before, guess I was wrong, anyway :

I have dificulties with anyone who doesn't seem to have any true convictions about anything.

This is a man who helped keep Chadee out of Jail for years, then truned around and led the struggle to hang him; He called the PNM corrupt then helped them win the elections in 2001; he gave PNM evidence to investigate Panday, then turns around and help get Panday out of Jail; one minute he is Panday friend, next minute he is Panday biggest enemy; at one time he was even a big Human Rights man, champoining the anti-capital punishment cause.....

How can anyone respect this man ?

What kind of PM would he make ?

So how much free tertiary education you expecting to give people children when the primary and secondary system failing them? Cheap voter padding and a better way to give the campaign contributors some contracts as well. 10 days and painting rocks white still considers work? What about reforestation? Sitting for 4 hours in the hills and getting paid for a fortnight? How about the ghost gangs in the URP? They counted amongst the employed?

YO CM,

I worked NRRP for several years and I could tell yuh for a fact cutting 274 meters of fire trace for the day is not sitting down on the job.

Carrying 5 boxes of plant to the top of the mountains on Caiman Hills, Maracas, Mt St Benedict, Caura, Lopinot and Paria and planting them after yuh clear the spaces fuh them is not sitting down on the job.

Please stick to what you know about.

Peanut, that's great you made such a contribution. I am referring to the use of the Green Fund for reforestation efforts currently and that information was give to me by friends of mine in the program.

Please be aware of the fact that not everyone has the same experiences as you do.

I am sure that is so, hoever you spoke in general terms and it needed to be corrected. With 2 bosses as Bal Ramdial and Narine Lakhan, it wasn't just me but over 1500 of us that worked NRRP from July to January come rain or sun and take this on for size, Hurricane Alma met us working in the forest.
