View Full Version : Cars thieves are not interested in?
Bearing in mind that car theft is a problem what is the best choice of car. I was thinking of getting something like a 4 year old Hyundai Matrix or Honda Civic, are thieves less likely to want cars like these or do they just steal anything?

Don't kno how common car thiefing is.
Certain places like Trincity mall etc is more prone to car thiefing.
They quicker to steal side lights and tht sorta thing.
If this is a common problem then we don't really hear abt it to often.
no such thing as a theft proof car.
but according to the police the cars most often stolen are Nissan Almera, Nissan Bluebird, Nissan Sentra B11 and B12 and Mazda 323 and 626.
and of course a bigger problem isnt the theft of the whole car but merely swiping the side mirrors or the side lights.

.... used cars would appear; sounds like they are more interested in 'spare parts'.
In that case I guess your best bet would be to ship down your foreign car if it is not one of those commonly used to 'harvest' parts.

If you are moving back to T&T, why worry about your car being stolen ? You didn't mention being robbed, or being attacked on the streets, or car-jacked. I guess you car is the most important thing in your life. Or do you have a life ? Sorry to be so hard on you, but i calls it as i sees it. But on the serious side, be very careful with the people you socalise. You just cyar go and fraternize with people yuh uses to know, because yuh doh know what dey into. But good luck if you decide to move.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... wait let me catch my breath... HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAH
ok ok.. LOOLOLOLOLOL, ok I am done now lol, seriously.. if you havent been to maimi I would understand lol. But seriously.. Honda and hyundai are very bad picks to say the least. Hondas and other small cars are huge targets for chop shops across the dirty south and I am sure its not any different in tnt. Common cars are easy victims b.c of thier popularity and easy access/ abundance which makes it so much harder to track and b.c they are low quality cheap cars the candle can cost more than the furneral so why even bother..
My advice, dont get to flashy, idealy VW has awesome security along with the most expensive line up such as the lexus, caddy, bema and the traditional Benz.
On the budget scale the secure cars would be the ugly ones with good security systems. Getting a security system installed in crucial for the life of your car, insurance helps to.
As for the models here goes...
Toyota,
audi,
mercury,
VW,
Volvo,
Dodge,
and beleive it or not... subaru and suzuki
Stay away from, the mitsubishi, handas, kias, saturn, pontiac, plymouth, mazda, acura and yes the nissan unless its a skyline :D WOOT

Considering I asked a simple question, you have presumed a lot! Are you just on this forum to have a go at people, if so, I don't think you have a life!
I don't care what car I drive, I can just do without the bother of replacing/reporting stolen cars. Where I currently live there are certain Toyota's that are constantly stolen broken up and sold for spare parts as they are very popular.

LRD; the more common the car the more vulnerable it is. So you might want to stay away from vehicles such as the Sunny/Sentra and Almera.
For some reason, while vehicles such as Lancers, Civics and Corollas are also very common, they're not as risky. Choosing a vehicle other than a compact sedan will automatically make you less likely to have your car stolen. If you want a compact, perhaps the best options are vehicles such as offerings from people like Dihatsu, Suzuki, Subaru and VW (each getting increasingly expensive). Also generally speaking, currently manufactured models of cars like the Civic, Lancer and Corolla would be quite safe, as long as you intend to change the car within 3 or so years, i.e. before it becomes as common as sliced bread.

Halo was commenting on your opening statement, "I am moving to TNT soon" which invites commentary to be honest. Maybe you should have left that statement out. (and its not too late, you can still edit it)
Just my suggestion.
