NATIONAL Security Minister Martin Joseph is promising that T&T’s spiralling crime epidemic will decline in about three years.
“I give you the assurance that two or three years from now we will not be talking about this level of gang and criminal activity in this country.”
.............
What is this madness? For his statement (quoted above), this Minister should resign immediately or else be fired immediately.

All they need to do is pass a law making the existance of 'gangs' illegal' , and arrest everyone in them... They know who the 'community leaders' are ,Manning invited them to a dinner not too long ago.
Also.... spend a few hundred million on a coast guard fleet to intercept any vessel coming into Trini waters... and ban fishermen from leaving local waters to potentially get drugs.
Shut down URP and do some revamping of CEPEP to weed out the gangs that benefit from them...
According to economist Steven D. Levitt , Gangs actually can't thrive on drug money alone , and gang members require a job to make ends meet , once you take that away the gang structure may very well collapse .
Only in a third world country would such stupidity be tolerated. Did he consult Manning's prophetess for that one?
Seriously, they should ban this man from speaking.

They probably hoping tht the gangs all kill each other in tht time frame.
They know who the gang leaders are. Didn't they wine and dine the 'community leaders' at crowne plaza to sign peace treaty.
They encourage nonsense and allow those people to have to much power and to much say.

There will be so few people left in T&T, THE CRIME RATE will inevitably drop. Who are not murdered, will emigrate. When the gangs "finish" killing one another, what do you think they will do with their high powered artillery ? Just sit on the corner and watch them. Let me give you a hint. They going after the monied people, and rob and kill them. Murderers and thieves just doh get up one morning and decide "AH GO CHANGE MEH LIFE".

Forget Martin Joseph. He is a non entity and he really has no competence as Minister of National Security.
Thinking about that, no Minister in the PNM has any competence.
“I give you the assurance that two or three years from now we will not be talking about this level of gang and criminal activity in this country.”
yes weill not be talking about this level. we will be talking about a higher one.

I don't understand why they just don't go after the gang leaders if they know who they are! :?

They KNOW who they are, hence the reason they are not going after them.

A good reason to keep on voting PNM!! Less crime in 3 yrs, more water in 5 yrs, no traffic conjestion somewhere in some yrs time, quality health in the future and a better quality of lifre for all, old, handicapped, sick, children, young families etc. Let us not forgrt the promises of the anoited one! It took Moses 40 yrs to lead the isrealites out of slavery, PNM there for 45 yrs and the slavery becomes more smothering and dehumanizing with each yr. I wonder how many more yrs still to go?

"Forget Martin Joseph" is not quite accurate; what you should have said is ...... focus on the entire Government, it would appear they all enrolled in 'Asinine Response 101'
check out Hazel Manning's response to the situation .......
LOCAL Government Minister Hazel Manning is confident the country’s spiralling crime rate will come to an end at some point.
“It is really a big concern, and I know it must come to an end at some point of time.”
..... and stupidity will cure itself too

Jeeez, even Chin Lee was better than this joker.
PNM yes...enjoy them for a few more years. Nothing can be done. Their approach is to sit back and wait, and from this quotation that Joseph has given, we can clearly see that is their strategy.
If you can migrate for this time, I'd suggest it. Come back when PNM is out of power in 2010.

Get real nah, as fast as these useless gangsters fall dead, more spring up from the bowels of the PNM criminal manufacturing machine.
Ah tink de man mean fewer crime incidents with a higher death rate each time. Eg, ten mudered in one swoop etc...
