indeed...at 5 I was playing with the tools of my trade today...but isn't it interesting how EVERYONE so far has taken 'figure out what you wanted to do with your life' as JOB only??.......Me included.....strange that psychology.........

What I want to do with my life changes as I gain more knowledge and experience. I would rather not pin a particular future and a particular point at which I realized it.

Like Solachica, I not just talking about job.

for me, approaching my mid-late twenties. for some reason there is this urgent need now in me to get something (career, life) started right now so that i can live pretty comfortably by the time i'm in my my 40's. I guess, I don't want to reach 30 and still have nothing secure going on for me. Pride has allot to do with it.

I can't remember the age I was at but I knew what I thought I wanted to do. I wanted to design clothes. But a teacher at school real spoil that for me. Then at 20 I realised that I wanted to work behind the scenes in either Radio or Television as I got my first job in TV. That dream has never left me but I am not making any moves towards it strangely enuff. The reality of it is for me that I just want to survive most days and I really have to psyche myself up to walk away from job security now and start all over to achieve what I would like to achieve.
I also thought of becoming an authour and a journo at some point in time but I also never pursued these much. I think in the end all I want is to marry somebody like the richest man in the world today and not worry about money on any level again, become a kept woman so to speak  ...until the 3rd world war of course and then money won't mean a thing. Ok so I am a bit weird...so sue me!
sometimes i feel as though i know what i want and then i find myself not being sure at times...sheesh... life is confusing.. :? :|

Well, what can I say? At the age of 62 I haven't figured it out yet. Started out in one field. Then recession hit and had a total change of direction to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. Now considered very good at my job. Kids now grown up and left home and I am about to retire, having paid off the mortgage and looking at a reasonable pension.
But I still think I want to find my true niche in life. Maybe I would go back to my original profession. Or learn to play a musical instrument or do a degree in politics. I'll let you know when I grow up.

Knew what i wanted to be since i'm 10....but started high school and realized it was unrealistic..
Thought i had it licked around 15....then i started working and blew that idea to shreds...
now working (for quite sometime) know i'm good at what i do..and enjoy it...but can't say i want to do it forever and ever....
das life yes... u live u learn...if u not..u eidder dead or stupid...

I just got a new job offer that would mean that I would have to reloacte yet again, to yet another country, and therefore leave behind my friends, my sometimes gf, my cool apartment, a great nightlife, my car, my job, my stuff.
Money is no longer an issue for me because my skills are in high demand whereever I go, and I am usually very well paid anyway.
So why am I even considering this move ?
Talk about a bad soap opera I live in ?
