Chaguanas West
PNM - Frankie Ranjitsingh
UNC - Jack Warner
COP - Manohar Ramsaran

Will Jack give up any of the following: VP FIFA, President CONCACAF, President CFU. FIFA says gov't can't interfere with football, but when it's the other way around they'll probably let it slide.

I live in Oropuche West and we've heard tht a while now tht Mickela wud have been contesting this seat.
They putting her in a safe seat nuh. Since Oropuche was one and traditioinally won by UNC and now they split it into East and West.

and what is wrong with mikela running as a Candidate? isn't it more democratic to enter in through the front door unlike how Hazel did and Brian will?

It only right she go through like this.

Panday treating the UNC like the family business anyway so he hoping to pass it down to her.

Is Vasant Barath related to Panday?

Is Vasant Barath related to Panday?

No Vasant Bharath is the son of Dr John Bharath DLP MP for St. Augustine 1966-71.

There is no relationship between Panday and Bharath.

I think at one time the media was implying that, to undermine Bharaths' entry into politics and Panday's support for him during the NFM debacle.

Why all yuh so Mikela has gone into politics the girl is articulate and educated, I have listened to her on the platform and she does have the Panday flair, rather than some of you applaud young people getting into politics here is the nonsense that Panday hoping to pass UNC down to her , and then some of you wonder why political parties lacking in talent, before anyone of you knock the girl ask your self if you would of had the balls to take a chance in this kind of political climate to run for anything.

Mikela is now going to be in the spotlight of every media house simply because she is Panday's daughter they are going to be sitting like vultures waiting for her to make one bad move and then its all over the media, so its not going to be easy for her, her life is going to change and drastically because she has to look out for the media and the also the nasty rumor mill of small minded Trinis that just love to gossip and spread old talk.

In that regard I believe that she is a very couragous young woman I know I would of begged my daughter not to enter politics in this twisted society, no way nah its not worth it.

When you put it that way, I agree with you.
Not jess being young, eh, being female too. Us women have to stick together

They really have some candidates about that should have dried up and blown away years ago, I say give some new people a chance. Whether it is Mikela, Brian, or my boo Ato   let us see some young people with some energy in there.

Mind you, I see Ramesh is giving this Anand Ramlogan some licks.

http://www.guardian.co.tt/news5.html

"And in Tabaquite, Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj is leading Anand Ramlogan 51 per cent to 17 per cent with 23 per cent for the PNM.
Many UNC grass root supporters in Tabaquite and Caroni Central are angry with the respective COP candidates Ramlogan and Prakash Ramadhar for joining the COP and intend to teach them a lesson"

Talk about a wrong choice. If he had went for either UNC or PNM he would have won his seat I bet.

The reason he did not went to either of those parties is because he have respect for himself .
If not he would have gone to the the UNC and gotten a supposedly safe seat .Same if he went to the PNM .
I am sure he sleeps easily at night

Then by your logic , the COP have the best possible slate of candidates and should be supported .
After all you cannot rate Mikela higher than Ramlogan or Ramadar !
Macco ,
Your silence is deafening .

MG ,
For you to be playing the race card , certainly seems to be an act of desperation on the UNC part .
I expected better from you .But then again....

I wonder if Manning would have gotten the same admiration if he had included family members on the PNM's slate? Doubt it.

I believe that the qualifications of the people included (relatives or otherwise) should speak volumes. Incidentally, what are Hazel Manning's qualifications for the position of Minister of Education? I have searched the web sites for her resume and cannot find one. All I could glean is a newspaper article from 2002 which provides a general description rather than specifics. Mikela's qualifications on the other hand are well documented.

That does not make a difference. There have been numerous times where family members have sat in parliament, even on different sides of the floor.

They are actually running for a seat and trying to win their appointments. Panday's daughter is doing the same and all the best to her. If she wins her seat and the party wins the elections then she would have no problems becoming a minister, unlike Mrs. Manning who never faced the polls for what she has now.

It is sad though, this should be the norm but some may consider it laudable at this point.

As far as I am aware: Llb, LEC, Memeber of the British Bar Society. What is Hazel's qualification to be Minister of Education? Or Abdul-Hamid's for that matter?

Mikela has to answer some questions for me before I could consider her a worthwhile candidate.
What is her view on being presented with a Clico Scholarship which was not open to anyone else? Does she think she earned it based on merit or because her father was prime minister?

Does she think that accepting a non-competitive scholarship would have made Panday obligated to Lawrence Duprey? Would she consider this unethical?

Did the topic of her winning this million dollar scholarship never arise as a point of discussion with BaS?

Are you sure tht money her mother got was used on her education or on her other sisters.
But intresting questions there.
