View Full Version : UNC won't survive Nov 5 elections

By the time the dust settles after the November 5, 2007 general elections, the UNC will be in disarray. They are scrambling at the moment, indecisive about leadership, suffering from a shortage of viable candidates, and in the self-destruct mode. What we have is a bunch of directionless jokers (with the exception of Kamla who should move to the COP) who will find themselves hopelessly sidelined and irreparably damaged come November 6. The COP will emerge as the only viable opposition party, with the PNM again forming the government. Well, that's my take.

The COP don't want Panday, they don't want Ramesh or Jack but they willing to take Kamla even though the woman telling them day after day to haul they tail. I like how they want Kamla but you know none of them saying what position they willing to give the woman, all she has to do is join COP, the COP have their candidates already so where they putting Kamla?
Does not the COP have a candidate running for that Siparia seat well if I was him I would be feeling like a dam fool now, here the entire COP executive hailing Kamla but what about their own candidate the not supporting the man? What kind of loyalty is that here a gentleman has offered to run in this race against Kmala and the PNM candidate but all he hearing from the COP people is how Kamla is boss, I would of leave the COP if it was me right there and then let them find someone else.

Them corpses ain't easy nah.....they saying Panday calling we corpses and want unity.
They calling Kamla and attacking she in the same breath. Talk about hypocrites, but I guess thats what it takes to be a corpse.
i guess unc wld know abt being hypocrites

What more hypocritical than making the candidate that running for that seat on a COP ticket feel Kamla better than him, so what the arse they put him there for to lose??
Isn't UNC contesting seats in PNM stronghold ... what dey putting them there for...ahhh to lose... right!!??

So Macco...you feel COP shouldn't chase Kamla when they already have a candidate for the seat, right?
So why UNC keep extending deadline for COP to side with them? That arrangement, the way Panday and Jack explained it, would mean COP pulling out 21 candidates, instead of just one. But I guess that's cool with you as long as it benefits your party...
Right now Kamla has the greatest appeal of anyone in any party! If given the chance she could well be the first female PM of T&T. She is very articulate and commands attention when she speaks.

Trying to hook Kamla is one thing but the COP has already put a candidate in place to run for that seat, it does make that candidate look useless, as to extending the deadline in case you had not notice that request for unity of the two parties was not made now it was made months ago the COP refused the offer and put up names for seats under the COP ticket against Kamla its only because of what happened the COP now seems to have this sudden love for Kamal remember she was one of the dumb people staying with the UNC all the talent went to the COP, COP words not mine, so it is surprising that the COP now admit that the UNCA still has talent and want it.
LOL
as if Macco will ever say the COP do something right or the UNC do something wrong.

As a supporter of the COP, you would see that my only problem with the UNC-A has been Panday and now Ramesh. There are still talented people in the UNC-A, though few, they still exist. For example, Kamla, Vasant, Suruj, Jack, Subash.

The UNC's attempt to get the COP to join with them sounds like the last gasp of a dying organisation. They in trouble and know it. They should withdraw from the elections to save further embarrassment :D Jeez it probably too late. For all you UNC supporters out there, it's time to pack it in, do the right thing and vote PNM or COP so that your vote would mean something.

And that is why COP would never accept any offer to join the UNC-A simply because Panday and now Ramesh are very problematic people to deal with. My father dealt with Panday before, and we all know how much of a dictator Panday does try to be.....you either do it Panday's way or simply don't get your way......

Panday already knows he's desperate and will try anything for another taste of power.....he already knows that the COP will take away some of their votes so why not unite with the team that might cut we backside come election time.

Panday and Ramesh are yet to apologise to UNC supporters for their power struggle that resulted in the UNC going back into opposition after only one year in office.
These two boldfaced traitors have the gall to come before the people again asking for their votes as if nothing happened.
They have both had their chance and it is now time to move on, but without those two millstones.
What guarantee are they giving that they will not do the same thing again.
The both of them are like the proverbial cow that gives a full pail of milk and then kicks it down.
Not only the UNC but the country as a whole is better off without Panday and Ramesh.

Macco, you make it seem as if the COP is some monolithic entity with a single opinion. While some may have said that Kamla was dumb, I heard no one on the leadership team say or suggest that. Why don't you deal with the real issue. Basdeo Panday will not allow any of the remaining UNC talent to grow or flourish. He expects obedience not ideas or ambition. If Kamla comes across the the COP, she would be an asset. Its common sense.
Why don't you deal with real issues instead of nitpicking on what you heard a handful of people say?
Answer the burning question. Can UNC win the next government without non-indian vote? Does the UNC have any non-indian vote at all?
I urge you to vote based on issues, and principles of integrity and love for your entire country, rather than blind loyalty to a party whose purpose has been subverted by an egotistical powerhungry lunatic.

I have said it so many times but since you asking I will say it again PNM is winning this election, UNCA will be the party in opposition, now since you asked and I answered can you tell me what seat the COP taking from the PNM to win it all, and also what seat they taking from the UNCA, because they will need at least 22 seats to form the next government so tell me where they getting them from?

Macco,
So you are going to vote UNC to put them back into opposition? What is the logic or purpose of that. You want BAS to see out his days warming an opposition bench?
If you vote unc you get into opposition at best.
If you vote COP you have a chance at government and removing the PNM.
Do you want to ensure that the incumbents continue to get a salary to sit on their arses for the next 5 years or do you want to ensure the success of your country after oil and gas run out?

If you say that UNC will go in back into opposition, are you saying that PNM will win elections and COP will join them?
That is the fear of many people.
Why are they refusing to unite with UNCA and continuing to make the excuse that Basdeo Panday and Ramesh Maharaj are the problem?
If COP is so confident that they will get the majority of seats, then obviously if they form an accomodation with the UNCA, the leader that wins the most seats will be Prime Minister and that will be Winston Dookeran.
So what is really the problem?
Can you ask Gerad Yetming and Siddiq Baksh this please?

The problem is that the COP knows that Panday is hoping that people loyal to him will win enough seats to give him the PM position and if he does not and cannot get the PM position then he will pull every "kuchur" in his vast arsenal of "kuchurs" to destroy what he cannot get. Remember "The ULF grab for power" our boy never forgot Ken Gordon and the express for that article and he even ended up paying some hefty bread to Ken for libel. That is the nature of the beast and that leopard cannot change its spots. On the night of the NAR victory Panday was on national TV looking like "he mudder ded"
The COP as a new and vibrant party must resist the wiles of Panday, whom I must remind, was elected to officeand gave it to PNM on a platter in an internal power struggle between himself and Ramesh.
Win lose or draw ther COP must go it alone and no talk about sacrificing integrity, principles and morals just to get power must influence that decision.
If the UNC loses this election that wil be the end of those who believe that "politics has a morality of it own"

All yuh could real talk dotishness you know. PNM is going to win the election and everyone knows that, so how Panday will be PM, is he the leader of the PNM?
And if the PNM wins their special majority 2012 election will be a dream .. There will be no more GE after 2007.

If that happens , say thanks to Basdeo Panday !
Manning will surely reward Panday well !
