why is the silk market labelled 'pearl market'???? :?
How did they find the food? I found that everything (except McDonalds and KFC) tasted like a mix of soy, garlic and ginger.

falcon,
is this a trick question? it have the 'pearl market' as pictured, and it have the 'silk market'.
the food was fairly good and interesting to say the least.
the hotel we stayed in had a buffet breakfast but it was like food i would eat for lunch or dinner. so, as much as i hate to say it, i went to macdonalds for breakfast.
dem people could eat.
and spit too.
oh, the parents were alright with the food. my dad's nickname after all is 'choy'.

two separate markets. if you look closely at the 'pearl market' picture you will see an 'obriens' sign.
by the silk market, there is a 'sarpinos pizza' restaurant.

i only bought stuff from the stores that have like eight final prices.
it starts like this:
'how much for this?'
'i sell to last guy for $697. for you, final price $200'

Maaan I get so sick of bargaining into that trip, I heard their price, they heard mine and I walked away. If they wanted the sale they'd call me back. It was the best thing for my sanity, and it revolutionised the whole experience.

falcon,
like you found confucius on that trip or what?
that is the whole secret right there. set a price and stick to it.
don't get upset or anything, or take it personally.
remember, they will never sell you anything to you, unless they are making money on it.
a few times though, i felt so guilty about paying so little for something, i would give the girls
twenty bucks to put in their pocket....that way, their employers would not ge it.

sapodilla,
where that picture was taken is immediately after the customs area in the new terminal.
