Or is there no such a thing between parent and child?
Is it ok for a woman to be scrubbing her 22 year old son clean after phagwa celebrations?
What about an 18 year old boy who hugs his mother and playfully squeezes a boob?
A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work?
It depends on the parent/child relationship.
To each their own, yes...

A child will always be the parent's child, no matter how old...
Is it ok for a woman to be scrubbing her 22 year old son clean after phagwa celebrations?
If that's how they grew up then why not...
What about an 18 year old boy who hugs his mother and playfully squeezes a boob?
Now that's crossing the line, wouldn't you say? He's not an infant.
A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work?
Depends. If that's just how they are then fine unless there's some ulterior motive behind it.

Whats the difference bet scenarios one and two sirius?
Why is your mother bathing u at age 22?
Isnt there an ewwww factor in there somewhere?
And in case anyone's wondering, none of these scenarios are hypothetical.
And I found them all disturbing.
Maybe I'm the wierd one? :?

Well there is a big difference between scrubbing and bathing. Scrubbing phagwa dye off he back, or helping a grown able man to take a bath? If it's just the former nothing wrong there. If it's the latter, well the the story change ent?

Well to me it amounted to the same thing bec how else yuh scrubbing him unless he clothes off and he in the bathroom? The mother was quite proud to announce this family tradition to the group btw - she does bathe her son so clean yuh could never tell he went phagwa. Scary.
they all seem off to me...unless u physicaly challenged, mommy shud not b bathin u at 22

I should mention that this thread stemmed from a comment by Sheppy in the affection thread in which he surmised that past a certain age some practices of displaying affection should be modified. I agree.

As a mom, I think there should be definetely a line. I am not sure when but I think as parents you should treat your kids according to their age.

Or is there no such a thing between parent and child? Absolutely yes!
Is it ok for a woman to be scrubbing her 22 year old son clean after phagwa celebrations? Absolutely not!

A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work? Absolutely not!

:?
I wont call them sick exactly.
I mean, I dont believe there is any sick motive behind these acts.
Its just a question of what is appropriate in your view.

What about an 18 year old boy who hugs his mother and playfully squeezes a boob?
why would any 18 yo be touching anyone's boob if not as a sexual advance ?
A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work?
the rolling around is a bit much.

 I am telling u what the lady say.
When someone else from the group suggested she get a backscrubber for her son, she seemed offended stating categorically "I's he mudder, it eh nuttin if I see him naked."
And well, maybe she has a point there. Seeing him naked is one thing, touching him while he is, is another.
Anyway, the moral to these stories is that it isnt all hugs and kisses and playful touching ever after. I think once your child hits puberty some things definitely changes.

I think this is along the same lines as breastfeeding a 6 or 7 yr old child. Extremely inappropriate.
These boys turn into husbands who see a wife as a replacement mother. Only difference is they get to sleep with her.

lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooo
Absolutely scary but who are we to judge it as being wrong just because it appears inappropriate? I mean Michael Jackson say he like sleeping with lil kids but he never had sex on the mind or had sex with them and based on the judgement handed down... He obviously was just inappropriate not dirty.
I am sure we can find filth in most things if we look hard enuff for it. Who it making uncomfortable really us or them? Whose opinions matters? Theirs or mine?

But that's not even the point, is the guy handicapped or something that he cannot bathe on his own? :?
I agree that there are certain behaviours which shld be modified the older we get...

Is it ok for a woman to be scrubbing her 22 year old son clean after phagwa celebrations? i saw my mom did this to my brothers when they were sick up to age 30..... they had shorts on while in the bathroom....how different is that from scrubbing abir off??
What about an 18 year old boy who hugs his mother and playfully squeezes a boob?

A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work? my daddy use to pull me off the bed to wake me up on mornings.... i never saw anything wrong with it... and neither did anyone else... Or is there no such a thing between parent and child?
Is it ok for a woman to be scrubbing her 22 year old son clean after phagwa celebrations? When my brother was experimenting alcohol with the village boys, our mother did strip him down butt naked and bathe him in his disgustingly drunken state .....with the hope of sobering him up..... he was 22 - 23
What about an 18 year old boy who hugs his mother and playfully squeezes a boob? Hugging and playing ... YES! The boobs part..... HELL NO!
A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work? Oh Well! Our father pulled us off the bed many times even on the weekends. His advice was and still is.... " don't let the sun raise up before you. .Rolling around in bed.....with a grown up child? :o

It amazes me that you can't see the difference between the outlined situations and your own experiences.
^^true...definately not the same...

Or is there no such a thing between parent and child? ......If the child were raised correctly, those lines would and should have been 'automatically' drawn some time during early pubity.
Is it ok for a woman to be scrubbing her 22 year old son clean after phagwa celebrations? ......What is more disturbing about the mother doing it, is the son allowing her to.
What about an 18 year old boy who hugs his mother and playfully squeezes a boob? ......Absolutely not, it shows utter disrespect for the boundries of his mother's body; at his age he should understand what is offlimits to him and certainly what is not acceptable. There is nothing wrong with a kiss on the cheek or a quick hug; if a son puts his hands on his mother, it had better be to give her shoulders a quick massage after a tired day.
A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work? ......Playful hugs by loving fathers for their daughters is not uncommon, but any bedroom activity had better be 'pillow fight'. Anyway, by this age, daughter's bedrooms should be 'off limits'.

If the son is sick and unable to bathe himself, then that is appropriate - like nurses do - within reason. Anything else is sick.

Well, if it's okay for a mother to bathe her capable 22 y/o son, what's the difference in this case then?
A twenty something year old whose father playfully hugs her and roll around in bed with her on a morning to ensure she get off the bed on time to get to work? my daddy use to pull me off the bed to wake me up on mornings.... i never saw anything wrong with it... and neither did anyone else... How old were you then? Did your dad roll around in bed with you when you were an adult? Pulling you off the bed, though it may be inappropriate depending on your age, is one thing, but frolicking in bed with a grown woman is sick.

I think that could be taken in many ways, either parents can't let go!
or they're being taken advantage of! or they're just plain promiscuous.
