BE WISE LISTEN UP!
Our generousity should be God-centered,
not to make us look good, but to please

1. Do you know a widow who needs your help?
2. Do you know an orphan and/or child who has
been deprived of some sort of support?
3. Is there a family member who may be having
some problems at this time?

CONSIDER THIS: :D
The Word of God declares the following:
1. Visit orphans and widwos in their troubles.
2. Give a helping hand whenever possible.
3. Use encouraging words to uplift, not to
tear down.

Open my eyes, Lord, to people around me,
Help me to see them as You do above;
Give me the wisdom and strength to take action,
So others may see the depth of Your love.

The more Christ's love grows in us,
the more His love flows from us.

IN DUE SEASON:
In a vision, God showed Isaiah who He really was.
Today, we can see God in His Word and in the
Spirit's work in and through us.
And we can also commune with Him through prayer.

SOON, AND VERY SOON!
But one day in heaven (and that is not to far
away) we will see our Lord face-to-face.

GIVE CONSIDERATION TO THIS! :shock:
It's a paradoxical truth that while salvation
is free, its cost was great.
One author said: "Forgiveness, which is so
easy for us to accept, cost the agony at Calvary."

pushing a "knockoff" of the real thing."

Oh, how great a gift Jesus gave to me!
Lived a perfect life, died upon a tree;

GET READY, GET READY!
Apostle Paul's challenge echoed Jesus' own
words urging His followers to be watchful
and ready, "for the Son of Man is
coming at an hour you do not expect."

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
If we believe our Lord's word about His coming,
how will it affect our thoughts and actions today?

What would He find, should He come just now:
A faded leaf, or a fruitless bough;
A servant sleeping, an idle plow?
What would He find should He come just now?

Every Christian should be an expectant uplooker, :roll:

A despairing man should have the
devotion of his friends, even though
he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

When Job finally spoke, he told his friends
what he needed from them. He asked for the
following:
1. He asked for reasons to continue hoping
2. Kindness
3. And words that did not presume guilt.

KEEP THIS IN MIND:
Remembering the story of Job and his friends
may help us when we don't know what to say.

Lord, give me sensitivity
To people in their grief and pain,
To weep with them and show Your love
In ways mere words cannot attain.

When someone's grieving, listen, don't lecture. :(

him many that were possessed with devils;

Many of us struggle with our thoughts about
God, especially during illness.
So we pray, "Deliver me, therefore, O my God,
from these infirmities."
However, we must believe that the
Great Physician knows all things, and He has
taken the weight of our sins and our weakness
for He paid a great and dear price for them.

SEARCH YOURSELF, AND ANSWER:
Why does God permit sickness in the
lives of His children? :(

The cross of Jesus is the supreme evidence
of the love of God. :mrgreen:

Ask yourself this: "Am I trusting in Jesus?"

RESPONSE:
If not, you're running for nothing. and
wasting time.

It's not what I achieve that qualifies,
It matters not if I gain wealth or fame;
The only thing I must be certain of
Is "have I put my trust in the name of
the Son of God?

If we could earn our salvation, Christ would
not have died to provide it.

WHAT TO DO!
Instead of focusing on what is wrong,
let's obey the One who knows what is right.

Lord, grant me grace throughout this day
To walk the straight and narrow way,
To do whatever in Thy sight
Is good and perfect, just and right. :roll:

Like a compass, the Bible always
points you in the right direction.

to give us the light of the knowledge of the

THERE IS WORK TO DO: :o
By every means possible, let's proclaim
the gospel. But let's pray that the
Holy Spirit will make us personally winsome,
loving and free from sin so that we can
attract others to Him.

THINK ON THIS! :o
There is a deeper, abiding joy for those
who trust Christ as Lord.
Ask Him into your heart today and you
will experience the joy of knowing that
He has provided forgiveness of sin and a
restored relationship with Himself through

To take a glimpse within the veil,
To know that God is mine,
Are springs of joy that never fail;
Unspeakable! Divine!

Joy comes from the Lord who lives in us,
not from what's happening around us.

lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives
light to everyone in the house.

ARE YOU SHINING?
Our capacity to shine for Jesus is measured
by our good works, which reveal His compelling
reality in our lives.
Therefore, let's turn on the lights.....

You are called with a holy calling
The light of the world to be,
To lift up the lamp of the Savior
That others His light may see.

To lead others out of the darkness of sin,
let them see the light of Christ in your life. :geek:

No discipline seems pleasant at the time,
but painful. Later on, however, it produces
a harvest of righteousness and peace for
those who have been trained by it.

GO WITH THE FLOW:
Is God using pain in your life to
lovingly persuade you to change?

ENJOY THE RESULTS:
The season of trouble may not be easy,
but if we let ourselves be trained by it,
new growth will result as we become
more like His Son.

We shrink from the purging and pruning,
Forgetting the Gardener knows
The deeper the cutting and paring
The richer the cluster that grows.

Affliction for God's people can be the pruning
knife to prepare us for greater fruitfulness.

P.S.
If you allow the purging to do the work,
you will become sweeter than honey
from the honeycomb. Be encouraged, it really,
really works, if you let it!

DISCOURAGED?:
Only as we submit our brokenness to
the good and great Shepherd of our hearts
can we find the peace that allows us to
respond to life.

TAKE HEART:
Hope in God, it's the only solution
for the deep traumas of the heart.

We rest secure in His sure Word;
And though we're tempted to despair,
We do not doubt that God is there.

No one is hopeless whose hope is in God.

Our Lord's illustration underscores a key
spiritual principle. God is interested in
our faith and obedience, not just our good
intentions.
Next time you are tempted to shirk your
duties, why not ask God for the grace to
do the task.

O help us, Lord, to heed Your Word,

And give us strength to quench the urge
To do things our own way

WHERE ARE YOU?
Feelings of insignificance are rampant
these days, even among Christians, and
some do hurtful things to make themselves
feel important.

THINK ON THIS!
As members of God's church, we need to be
"rivets" without defect. When we are pure,
strong and steadfast, we will be used by the
Lord to keep His ship afloat in times of crisis.

The task Thy wisdom hath assigned,
O let me cheerfully fulfill;
In all my works Thy presence find,
And prove Thy good and perfect will.

It is a great thing to be faithful in little things...... :mrgreen:

GOING ON A TRIP?
All voyages, are fraught with uncertainty,
especially those that pass through waters
never sailed before.
Nevertheless, the journey is not uncharted.
There is One who has taken it before us,
and He promised to return to bring us safely
through.

Say not it's a dreadful journey
When the Savior leads the way;
It's but passing thorugh the shadows
To the land of endless day!

Those who love the Lord need not fear death.

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported
to him all they had done and taught.
Then, because so many people were coming and
going that they did not even have a chance to eat,
he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to
a quiet place and get some rest."
Mark 6:30-31 *** NIV

AND HERE IS WISDOM:
After Jesus' disciples completed a demanding
period of ministry, He said to them, come and
rest a while.
However, when your long day of ministry is
finally ended, find a place where you can
seek renewal in prayer with the Heavenly Father.

HINT, HINT!
Jesus our Lord is always with us whether life
is hectic or calm, but there is great value in
taking time "each day" to walk the quiet road
with Him.

There is a place of quiet rest,
Near to the heart of God;
A place where sin cannot molest,
Near to the heart of God.

Time spent with the Lord is always time well spent. :mrgreen:

WHERE ARE YOU STANDING TODAY?
As followers of Christ, we are commanded
to cooperate with our rulers, but we are
called to give God our ultimate obedience
and commitment.

We live today as citizens of two worlds,
And this demands a duty to fulfill;
But greater far should be our heart's desire
To honor Christ and always do His will.

ultimate authority. ;)

abounding in love to all who call to you.

In the day of my trouble I will call

WHAT DID DAVID KNOW?
David, the psalmist understood that
we can cast all our cares on the Lord,
even if no one else prays for us.
He confidently concluded:
"In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
for You will answer me."

God has given you His promise
That He hears and answers prayer;
He will heed your supplication
If you cast on Him your care.

Jesus hears our faintest cry. :(

For this cause I bow my knees unto the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Of whom the whole family in heaven
and earth is named,
That he would grant you, according to
the riches of his glory, to be strengthened
with might by his Spirit in the inner man:

HARD FACTS!
We are not equipped to handle all the
problems we face, but God is!
That's why He told us to give them all
to Him: "cast your burden on the Lord".
We can learn that walking with Jesus does not
depend on our legs, it depends on our heart.

I don't worry over the future,
For I know what Jesus said;
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.

:o We can walk through the darkest trials
when we walk with God in the light... :mrgreen:

Have nothing to do with godless myths and
old wives tales; rather train yourself to be
godly.
If you point these things out to the brothers,
you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus,
brought up in the truths of the faith and of
the good teaching that you have followed.

How well we train greatly affects how
well we run our race of life.

Just as the body grows in strength
With exercise each day,
Our spirit grows in godliness
By living life God's way.

Godly exercise is the key to godly character. :shock:

which have ears, and hear not.

tremble at my presence, which have placed
the sand for the bound of the sea by a

yet can they not prevail; though they roar,
yet can they not pass over it?

THINK ON THIS: :o
Within creation there is inherent order.
Violating it has inherent consequences.
God in His kindness simply and lovingly
communicated to us the order of things
so that we can avoid those consequences.

THINK CAREFULLY ON THIS: :shock:
We should be wise and know that we
must stay within His prescribed boundaries.

Lord, keep us on the narrow way,
Where no corruption, woe, nor evil can destroy,
Where Your right hand defeats the worldly fray
To lead us into Your eternal joy.

Disregarding God's order leads to disorder!

According to my earnest expectation and
my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed,
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
During our physical life, we have
opportunities to serve Jesus.
But one day, we will actually be in
His presence.
All our fears and concerns will melt
away when we see Him face to face. :D

Death? Christ said not death;
He called it sleep;
A vast awaking, a new day breaking,
A bright way taking, with visions deep.

For the Christian, the fear of death will
give way to the fullness of life. :P

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but
we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Psalms 20:7 *** KJV

GIVE THOUGHT TO THIS!
When trouble comes, and we ourselves cannot
handle the problem, ultimately, we seek help
from the Lord.
The good news is, God miraculously sends help
from the sanctuary.

TAKE HEED!
Don't make the mistake by seeking help from
flesh! But put your trust in the living God
and you will always be sure of victory!

Trust in God and you will know
He can vanquish any foe;
Simply trust Him day by day,
He will be your strength and stay.

surrendered to God.

and opened wide our hearts to you.
We are not withholding our affection from
you, but you are withholding yours from
us.
As a fair exchange, I speak as to my children

A large hearted person shows his affection
with his words and actions, freely and
generously.

ARE YOU AMONG THE FOLLOWING?
As believers, let's live large today and freely
welcome and embrace others in love.

That burns perpetually.

They do not truly love who do not show their love. :o

SEARCH YOURSELF!
Have you trusted Jesus to heal your soul?

Our Lord took death upon Himself
On that cruel cross of pain,
And those who look in faith to Him
Eternal life shall gain!

Look to Christ today, or you may be lost forever. :o

AND HERE IS WISDOM:
The sooner we get over the illusion that more stuff
means more peace, happiness, and self-fulfillment,
the better off we will be.

GET THIS!
In order to find the longed-for peace and happiness,
the true "good life" only Jesus can provide that.

O Lord, help us to be content,
Whatever we possess;
Protect us from the foolish lie
That "more" brings happiness.

The "good life" is found in the richness of God. :mrgreen:

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture,
"Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right.

BE BLESSED
Selflessly "doing well" expresses the heart of God,
and fulfills His law of love.

Let the road be rough and dreary,
And its end far out of sight;
Foot it bravely, strong or weary;
Trust in God and do the right.

Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in
the assembly of the saints.
Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people

HEAR YE, HEAR YE:
As we yield our lives to God's Spirit within,
we can live lives of uncommon beauty before
a watching world. The psalmist assures us:
"The LORD will beautify the humble."

Beautiful faces are those that seem
With the very love of God to beam;
Beautiful forms are those that grace
With gentle service the lowliest place.

Live so that others will want to know Jesus. ;)

He was in the world, and though the world was
made through him, the world did not recognize him.
He came to that which was his own, but his own did
not receive him.
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed
in his name, he gave the right to become children
of God, children born not of natural descent, nor of
human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

FACTS!
Astronomically, we are insignificant.
But we are the beloved objects of God's care.
While we have no reason for pride, we are
inexpressibly grateful to the Lord whose love
for us personally is revealed at Calvary's cross.

Loved with everlasting love,
Led by grace that love is know,
Gracious Spirit from above,
Thou hast taught me it is so!

We have nothing to boast of but that

TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION!
When our hearts hurt because of loss, we can
find hope in our Lord, who never changes.

As he prayed, Daniel focused on worship
and confession.
His pattern gives us an important insight
into talking to God:
1.) We are to recognize that God is
"great and awesome."

Let's follow Daniel's lead. To him, prayer
was as vital as life itself.

Prayer is just as though you are
having a conversion with your best
friend. For, Jesus is your "best friend."

Some people claim to have found hidden
meanings when interpreting the Bible.
Certain cults will cite a verse out of context,

we must always consider the context and compare
it with other Scripture.
This respects the clear meaning of the Bible
without trying to find hidden meaning in it. :?

God's Word does not have secret codes

really live. This may sound counter-intuitive,
but it is the heart of the Christian experience.
