DJ Lalo died in vehicular accident on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in Trinidad days away from his 50th birthday celebrations. His loss will put a damper on Carnival 2008 celebrations as Lalo played an integral part in the annual festival.

Lalo was a down to earth man who touched the lives of many people he came in contact with. According to one of his daughters Ornella, "He always helped people before himself. If someone had $200 and needed $500. He would give them the remaining $300. Such was the measure of the man."

He was one of the best in the business. Ragbir leaves his wife Ome and three daughters Nisha, Ornella and Laura to mourn. The accident occured around noon yesterday near the intersection by Trinicity Mall. Another passenger Jacqueline King was also killed while her son Ancy is in critical condition in the hospital.

Ragbir was expected to provide music for Carnival band Legacy for Monday and Tuesday celebrations. He also provided sound systems, DJ services for parties, Carnival bands, as well as political meetings.

He also participated in music tours, provided DJ services for Miami Carnival. Despite Ragbir’s passing, an official at the Legacy Mas Camp said the show would go on.
