was it the Falcon or was it the Falcon who said after Steve Knucklehead Coppel shot the Reading players' confidence down, by effectively saying that they need to tread carefully else they'll get relegated ......well they will get relegated !!

They ought to jettison this underachieving manager.......like Gally, like Porterfield RIP, like Vranes...it have some coach dat could take yuh to the mountain, but then yuh need anodder one to enter in d promise land. 8-) Confucius say.

Rooney and Ronaldo fill their boots. Good finish and performance from Tevez. Anderson also had a decent game...

Vidic, O'Shea and Balsa Boy injured...but the injuries were minor so they should be back for our next game...

Today after the game the critics are questioning the quantity of too much foreigners in the Prem as the reason for smothering English talent which resulted in England losing in 2-1 in Russia.

Aila
10-18-2007, 05:46 AM
Thats a load of bullS£$T!!!! I've been in Engalnd 1 1/2 mths now and all the can do is make up excuses. U should have heard every1 in the bar wehn thay loss last nite. What does the foreigners have to do with it? If England had lots of YOUNG GOOD english talent like they do in Rooney and Walcott they would shine through- its a simple as that. They played ok for the first half and I'm sure Gerrard is regretting that wasted chance but they let Russia control the game for 2 long. Every1 knows sustained pressure usually results in a goal or some sort of controversy. Acid; what you think bout the two goals: was rooney offside and was in a penalty?

you sure have a big opinion of the english after only 6wks aila.

Acid
10-18-2007, 09:47 AM
Aila,

Rooney pulled the man and I think it was outside the box ... maybe Russia can say that the England goal was offside so that cancelled the dubious penalty. When Owen knocked it down, Roo was ahead of the last man. But it was a good effort for Owen to make that play and a nice volley in the end. [On another note Owen says Heskey is his preferred strike partner].

The thing is that England knew they were going to play on an artificial surface and they were only practising on grass. Russia had over 60% of ball possession.

Scotland lost too so it was a bad day for the United Kingdom.

sacky
10-18-2007, 11:39 AM
so acid would van persie be fit for this weekend and if not how long would he be out for, licking my lips, for the start of the african nations cup.;lets see how the woolich arsenal get on without them young african players.

Acid
10-18-2007, 01:55 PM
Robin is out for 4 weeks :( Walcott, Eduardo and Bendtner will have to fill that gap. It will be interesting to see how they partner Adebayor up front.

The African Cup of Nations will be from 20 Jan to 10 Feb 2008 which is still in the break for teams in the Champions League.

Arsenal will only be missing Eboue and Traore for that tournamet. So hopefully we will be able to fill the gap of those two at the back.

sacky
10-19-2007, 09:53 AM
so adebayor is european.

Falcon
10-19-2007, 10:12 AM
what about Kolo and Yaya, them ent qualify?

Acid
10-20-2007, 11:15 AM
so adebayor is european.

Adebayor African. However just because you are from Africa doesn't mean you automatically qualify. He is from Togo. The 16 teams are:

Group A
Ghana, Namibia, Guinea, Morocco

Group B
Nigeria, Benin, Mali, Ivory Coast

Group C
Egypt, Sudan, Zambia, Cameroon

Group D
Tunisia, Angola, South Africa, Senegal

Similarly, England is a European country but it doesn't mean they will automatically be playing in Euro 2008 since if Russia gets the results against Israel and Andorra then Terry, Lamps et al will get a long summer break :)

Falcon,

Yaya, the younger brother of Kolo, is at Barçelona this season. Kolo has not confirmed as yet if he will play in the Nations cup. In any event when he is not playing in games we have Bacary Sagna from France who we are using for that position.

Acid
10-20-2007, 12:51 PM

Today after the game the critics are questioning the quantity of too much foreigners in the Prem as the reason for smothering English talent which resulted in England losing in 2-1 in Russia.

No, England were rubbish because they played a centre back at left back and then asked him to come in play narrow, leaving J. Cole of all people to track back and defend that side. The penalty? Tell me what Rooney was doing in a centre back position trying to make last ditch tackles? Where was Lescott? Campbell? Where was big bad Stevie G who couldn't hit a pass five yards in front of him? Michah Richards bombing upfield and then becoming stranded meaning that Wright Phillips had to constantly track back...and they say G. Neville's place is under threat. He must have been laughing like a drain at the mistakes that were made by Richards.

I said on the old forum that McClaren should be given a chance. He has...now its time for him to go...and he can take Gerrard with him...

My England team (when everyone is fit)

Foster
G Neville
Ferdinand
King
A. Cole
Wright Phillips
Carrick
Hargreaves
Barry
Rooney
Owen

Balanced midfield. Barry can play at left wing as he is left footed and is a natural left back who can also play left wing (which has done for Villa)...

Not 35 million a year, I can assure you.

Our takeover was structured a little differently to yours (not that I condone the Glazer takeover).

You don't see United whoring themselves to corporations and the Saudi Arabians like the vermin have over the past month or so...

I call it karma. The same vermin fans from their rubbish dump city were having a field day over the Glazer takeover...now look how the tables have turned. The self proclaimed 'peoples club'...

Good win over Sunderland btw, only 17 more points to go until you catch up hahahahahahahahaha

Carlos is back in full training for Sunderland, and will have his return game (albeit a reserve game) this week...
Hopefully match fit in 2???? But then home to play Jamaica, and hopefully this bad run of injuries doesnt continue.

The upside is that now Kenwyne can start back scoring again..........

ironic that they sell the semi scoring Stern, who continues to semi score for the Saints, and Kenwyne dry up even though it ent he fault............dat tall man from Barnsley show what ah tall man in front must do!

3-0 against the rat-eaters.

I think Rio and Vidic were having their own personal contest to see who could put Torres in their pockets the most during the course of the game. Gerrard fails to do it against United...yet again...Gerrard dominated in midfield by Anderson....yet again...

Scholes = pure class

Ronaldo = mesmeric.

They say Ronaldo only scores against small clubs....and today was no different (ha ha ha ha)...

Rafa must stay.

Even Jaffa Cake Brown scored...only his third goal in 10 years....

ROFLcopter.

was it the Falcon or was it the Falcon who said after Steve Knucklehead Coppel shot the Reading players' confidence down, by effectively saying that they need to tread carefully else they'll get relegated ......well they will get relegated !!
They ought to jettison this underachieving manager.......like Gally, like Porterfield RIP, like Vranes...it have some coach dat could take yuh to the mountain, but then yuh need anodder one to enter in d promise land. 8-) Confucius say.

Right, Nostradamus here to claim some praise. 8-) what ah say since last year????!!!!! Them will never fire the coach though, I hear people calling the radio station to cuss the players saying the manager ent deserve them....hahah every other team is manager fault except Reading....damn good for the Reading fans- they have the team they deserve.

DORA YR BIG FAT MOUTH WILL ALWAYS GET YOU INTO TROUBLE

The Manchester United Supporters' Trust are predicting further increases in the price of season tickets at Old Trafford after the holding company who own the Premier League champions revealed a total debt of £666 million.

Figures released in January for Manchester United Limited had underlined the colossal money-making success, but a detailed picture of the club's overall financial structure under the Glazer family has emerged this week following the publication of Red Football Joint Venture's accounts.

These figures relate to the 12 months until June 30 last year, a period that included the refinancing in 2006 which had followed the leveraged takeover the previous year.

In that time, the interest on bank loans and overdrafts rose from £27.2 million to £42 million and, including one-off costs relating to the refinancing, there was an increase in the total debt from £598 million to £666 million. At a time of economic uncertainty, there are fears that further rises in the cost of watching United could prove too much for some supporters.

"Fans celebrating the team's achievements are about to find out how much more they will be asked to pay for the pleasure of continuing to support United with their hard-earned cash," said Nick Towle, chairman of the Manchester United Supporters Trust.

"United fans face another ticket price increase on top of big rises for the last three seasons. Another year of high finance costs due to the global credit crunch will mean more and more revenues will be soaked up in servicing debt payments - the new TV deal will not cover it, therefore ticket prices have to go up again and again. Fans are entitled to ask, 'At what long-term price is our current success being bought?'"

Last Saturday, United announced an average increase in season tickets of 6.5 per cent for 2008-09, a lower figure than in the three previous years. The new price plan allowed season-ticket holders to opt out of Carling Cup matches.

There were several positive elements to the accounts, particularly in the club's capacity to generate income. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose from £36.2 million to £75.4 million while, significantly, operating profit was £7.1 million compared with a loss of £37.2 million the previous year. The overall loss of £58 million also compared favourably with a loss of £135 million in 2005-06.

There is confidence at United that the debts remain serviceable and that the club's overall financial health is robust.

United can also point to the signings of Nani, Carlos Tevez, Owen Hargreaves and Anderson, as evidence that the Glazer's business model has allowed Sir Alex Ferguson to improve his team.
