Drinking too much water 'can be bad for your health': Benefits are a myth! ...

Dr McCartney points out that research shows drinking when thirsty can impair concentration , rather than boost it, and separate evidence suggests that chemicals used for disinfection found in bottled water could be bad for your health.

Apart from the point about the disinfection found in bottled water, the only real mention of drinking too much water being bad for health is

and other studies show it can even cause kidney damage, instead of preventing it.
i haven't heard of anyone who suffered from kidney damage because of drinking their 8 glasses of water a day.

Of course we know that we can get drunk from drinking too much water at a time. We were not meant to drink the 8 glasses in one shot, but throughout the day.

If the piss is darkish, not enough water, drink more.
Too clear, too much water and may be removing too much salts that is necessary for proper body functions.
Try to maintain a good balance.

Here are 2 sites that may provide some information.

i should have probably typed the word drunk as 'drunk'
It is actually called water intoxication which is dilution of the blood which ultimately leads to an excess amount of fluid reaching the brain thus causing a slight swelling of the brain, which in turn causes one to experience an intoxication effect. If the brain swells up too much, it can lead to death.

Temperance is the love of health, or the inability
to overindulge.
