Now cows TO produce human breast milk!
Chinese scientists have reportedly developed genetically modified cows that produce ''human'' milk.
According to a report in The Sunday Telegraph, they have introduced human genes into dairy cows to produce milk similar to human breast milk.
The researchers believe that milk from these
e herds of 300 cows can provide an alternative to human breast milk and formula milk for babies, which is often criticised as being an inferior substitute.
Researcher Professor Ning Li, director of the State Key Laboratories for AgroBiotechnology at the China Agricultural University, said the milk would be as safe as milk from ordinary dairy cows.
"The milk tastes stronger than normal milk. Within ten years, people will be able to pick up these products at the supermarket," the Daily Mail quoted Li as saying.
The researchers reportedly used cloning technology to introduce human genes into the DNA of dairy cows before the genetically modified embryos were implanted into surrogate cows.
Researchers said they were able to create cows that produced milk containing a human protein called lysozyme, which helps to protect infants from bacterial infections during their early days of life.
They have also created cows that produce another protein from human milk called lactoferrin, which helps to boost the number of immune cells in babies.

transgenic animals won't become widely accepted within the next 20 years.

they would just object by default
the wider society will not accept an animal gene in mainstream products. The answer is there for chickens, but not even submitted for comments

Accepted?
The world is moving more and more to Corporatism/Fascism. It is Corporations that have the most influence over Governments.
Transgenic animals don't have to be 'accepted'. You will be consuming the products; you will be paying for the products; you can always read whatever the packaging on the products has on it if you think that's going to make any diffence.
If you want to avoid transgenic issues and other GMO products your best bet is BUY LOCAL, BUY SMALL FAMILY FARM PRODUCE.

There are transgenics and then there are transgenics. I am sure the public could be induced to take a sheep with a cow gene, but mouse genes in chickens and human genes in anything will have more hoops through which to jump.
Even your capitalist argument as an avenue is flawed because this will be a big issue with the Jews.

The next thing you know human would be producing Cow Milk.
This would be acceptable for tea and coffee.

Manicou gene in chickens is okay? = could this be equal to rat/mouse gene in chicken?
What if people want to take the LAZY way out and just tell themselves that the cow/human milk is the same and 'Mothers milk' and the media is there to 'educate' parents. They just might go for it.

An interesting comment.

if they market cow's milk with human genes as a substitute, then you wont be able to reasonably say that human breast milk is 'better'.
Owing to the physological process of milk production, I can't see us getting to that point.
Human genes in a cow? What else could that lead to? No more stretch marks on females, no hormonal changes during pregnancy all could be managed in a cow? How many eggs could the cow be inseminated with?
Then the cow give human milk to the human babies it has just birthed?

Until we figure out how to use cows' blood for human transfusions, I don't think we have to worry about cattle placentas supporting human foetuses.

Why use cows when you can get the real thing?
