Could somebody explain to me why does the water and sewage authority (WASA) advertise on television and radio? I started hearing these adds telling me about how "water is the essence of life" (or somesuch), but for the life of me, I can't figure out why they are doing it.

Does WASA have any competition? Are they afraid people will go drink pond water instead???

?!?

I'm seriously baffled why they would spend good money advertising. If anyone has a clue, please post it!

or they rates going up because they advertising?

Seriously, I see more WASA ads than blink ads, which is insane. That much marketing costs a hell of alot.

brand awareness, not for competition, but for public cooperation, public information and public acceptance.

brand awareness, not for competition, but for public cooperation, public information and public acceptance.

It's also how you entrench your product in the market's mindspace.

This thread gave me a good laugh....

Now I want to say WASA does have competition .... from bottled water, but I suspect that most of teh bottled water sold in TNT comes from the pipe anyway...so I ent know de answer to this one.
