Baghdatis up 2 sets 6-4, 6-4 on Safin right now. Nice display of flat, rallying power shots. I thought he lost his match against Thomas.

some past scores
Lleyton Hewitt def Marcos Baghdatis 4-6,7-5,7-5,6-7,6-3.
an alright showing by Baghdatis, although not as agressive as in the Safin match. offseason work does payoff. Scrappy Hewitt moves on.
surpriser here
Juan Carlos Ferrero def. David Nalbandian 6-1,6-2,6-3.
Richard Gasquet lost to Tsonga
2 7 7 6 6 3
6 6 5 7 8 6
Serena beats Vaidisova in 3 and 4.
Sharapova beats Dementieva in 2 and 0
Henin and Venus both advances.

Men;s Quater Final results:
Fed beats Berdych 6-4,7-6,6-3.
Blake beats Cilic easily in 6-3,6-4,6-4.
the guy I'm rootin for...Djokovic beats Hewitt in 4
7-5, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.
the two spaniards..David Ferrer and Ferrer
Ferrer wins in 4
7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Youzhny wins over Davydenko
7-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Nadal gets an easy one over Mathieu
6-4, 3-0 Retired.
Now...the Ladies:
Henin is gonna meet Sharapova (I think Henin is gonning to win this meeting.)
Jankovic gonna meet Serena. (....Serena gonna win. always tough)
Venus is gonna meet Ivanovic (I'd give the edge to Venus. She's very mobile and strikes the ball powerfully)
and Hantuchova is gonna meet Radwanska.

Serena is 1 set down to Jankovic. She looked really out of it, down 2-0 in the second, but is starting to show some form that maked her the champion.

good ting i is not a betting man *cough*Davydenko*cough*
a tennis joke. doh study it.
Jelena beats Serena 6-3,6-4.
Serena looked tired.
Sharapova beats Henin 6-4, 6-0.
Sharapova is playing very agressive tennis. Her movement has certainly improved.
I'm hoping for Djokovic vs. Fed semifinals.

AO Men's final airs at 3:30am Sunday morning. Off to bed I go. 4 hrs sleep.
I want Djokovic to win, but I have a feeling that Tsonga is gonna fight and Djokovic's nerves is gonna get the best of him.
I'm gonna hope Djokovic wins in 4 sets.

Bor! meh boy Djokovic won the men's singles tittle. He looked pretty nervous 1st set. But loosing the 1st set woke him up.
Tsonga reminds me of a younger Safin. I think he needs to be more agressive in his rallys. Nevertheless, he is an exciting player to watch.
Plenty ppl saying that Fed was not 100% due to a stomach flu he had before the AO 2008. Thats why his movement and forehand let him down against Djokovic. Well, how come that wasn't evident against his match with Blake. Dominated him in 3 sets. And Blake did not play bad at all.
I sure Djokovic and Sharapova practising together. Her movement and handeling of pace shots has greatly imporved.
Up next...Rolland Garros. My favorite...Nadal.

I was glad to see Djokovic play well and win a major. I think a lot of ppl thought Federer was going to be winning every hard court and grass major for years. If you look at it on average it is very hard on the men's side for players to win beyond age 26 which is where Federer is now. You start to slow down and the younger guys catch up.
He has had the most dominant 3 to 4 years in the open era but I think you'll see the 20 to 22 year old guys catch up with him this year and next. It won't be so easy to break Sampras' grand slam record although I think he will still do it.

i agree.
he now has a real competitor on every surface.
Hardcourt - Djokovic
Clay - Nadal
Wimbeldon - Nadal (mabye Djokovic)
US Open - Djokovic
I think he willl eventually beat Sampras' record. He's definetly the favorite for grass. Mabye 17 or 18 Grand Slams titles.
