Recently i've been getting the error message that dx7vb32.dll is not a valid image. The error came up whenever i launched a program. This morning when i restarted my pc, that error msg was constantly appearing (very annoying).

So i checked it out online, it supposedly due to a virus/malware and on mnay forums they said to do a complete scan with several different antivirus programs.

However on one forum, someone suggested to use "Autoruns for windows'
The file was only 605kb so i thought why not. With that program, you can see everything at startup, search for startup files, verify them and disable them. I was surprised at the amount of files being auto run on startup. It's very user friendly too. It fixed my problem!

You can also do this with an included program in windows called msconfig.


Start->run/search->msconfig
