I have listend to all of you mentioning the ONR in 1981 and the COP in 2007. What you all have failed to mention so far is that in 1981, the cry was "GIVE GEORGIE A CHANCE"

IT IS NOT SO IN THIS ELECTION!

People are seeking a change in Gov't to protect the Democracy of T&T from that Dictator called Manning.

The population is looking for a Gov't that is of the people, for the people and by the people, not a Gov't of Patrick Manning, by Patrick Manning to suit the whims and fancies of Patrick Manning.

People are seeking a Gov't that will preserve our Democracy while ensuring economic growth, peace, prosperity among the citizens and the restoration of security and stability so T&T can be safe again.

I AM ASSURING ALL OF YOU, COME NOVEMBER 6TH 2006, IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP TO A COP GOV'T, YOU WILL WAKE UP TO THE PNM and A PRIME MINISTER WHO IS SORELY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE HE DIDN'T GET THE SPECIAL MAJORITY HE SOUGHT, AND A BIGGER OPPOSITION.

Well, I wasn't around in '81, but I see your point, '81 was Chanbers' first general election as POlitical leader and incumbent PM.

On the other hand, Manning already had his chance, and his failures as PM are there for the objective observer to see.

Added to that is Manning's desire to be exec prez and to revised the constitution to give him more power to abuse.

I'm leaning towards COP, but still not convinced.... 8-)

Dais 8-) but I pointed that out cause people are conveniently leaving out that fact.

I canvassed the Arima Constituency for the PNM that year and there is no doubt, most all of the votes PNM got that election was sympathy votes and therein lies the difference between then and now.
