Venezuelan Rescued.

Law enforcement officers stormed a house in Laventille yesterday and rescued a Venezuelan national who was snatched from a hotel in Mount Lambert.


With his hands tied behind his back, Falco yesterday managed to make a telephone call to the police, said the investigators. Officers acted on the call and went to the apartment building where they found him tied to a bed in Apartment 4-2. Two suspects, who live the area, were held and were under interrogation up to late yesterday


However, the children at the apartments were angry and disappointed after the suspects were taken into custody. “What are we going to do now they take the man who arrange our Christmas party? How am I going to get the doll I wanted?” asked one of the girls. “He (the suspect) did not do anything. It is allegations,” a teenage boy said.

They then complained of the police usage of authority. “They always coming in here and mashing down our door. You know how many doors they mash down? They did not even have a warrant!” said one of the children.


Falco was taken to Port-of-Spain General Hospital for medical treatment because he was vomiting, detectives said. Police said he was dehydrated.

Tahnks God the police rescued the man. I read in the newspapers that the police killed some bandits in a shootout, and a car thief as well. Seems the police are working hard this christmas. :D

The venzuelan cannot " drop the chrages " because in our law once you report to the police or the police is aware of a breach of law they must find evidnce and places charges hence in every case the police is the Complainant and the victim is the " Virtual Complainant."

Of course the venezuelan do not want to go to court because he must be a " crook " too ...who de heck you tink bringing down the drugs here ? Italians and Frenchmen ?

You in your TOPIC is well aware that if we could stem the flood of drugs into the country for transhipment to the USA ,Canada and Europe crime will decrease dramatically.

What gauls me kemist is some of these ex pats who read the scandal sheets everyday and as soon as they see a crime report they beating the maladorus gums aboyt " TNT is a dangerous place " etc ....a lot of the Kidnappings were done to collect moneys owed for drug deals...ask the police.

i think a more accurate statement would be to say a few of the kidnappings rather than a lot.
please dont fall victim to 'common talk'. Its natural for people, when they dont get the entire story, to fill in the gaps with their own version. I am also guilty of doing that when i read an article in the press that doesnt seem to add up.
The police cannot give all their info to the press. The surviving victims do not give the entire story to the press either- it is hard enough to talk about with their own families; the way they have been violated during the course of their ordeal .
I know much about this because twice, during the course of the past seven years, On 2 separate occasions, members of my family were kidnapped. Since the first incident occurred, family members have offered support to other families of kidnap victims, on the advise and approval of the police. So we got an idea on how many were drug related. When the most recent one occurred , other families and victims themselves who survived, offered support to ours. I can confidently say those were not drug related.
Then there are the unreported cases of extortion - buisnessmen being asked to pay 'protection money'. They do talk about it within their own circles and i know of a few who have payed it and also a few who sent their children to live abroad, rather than paying it.
Defensive measures would not be taken if it weren't a real problem.

So sorry to hear that your family too are in that new demographic of the 'silent victim', I say silent because I have seen first hand how this group deals with the trauma of their ordeal, of not only having harm come to a loved one, but also dealing with the sometimes false assumption that their loved ones were involved in something illegal, they do all of this in silence.
I have seen how they simply gravitate to others who have also gone through the experience because these are the only people who can empathize with them; I feel that the average person has no way of appreciating how those crimes become a life altering experience; I too know first hand of the suffering inflicted on an entire family and close friends once a loved one is kidnapped, and how the actual kidnapping is only the beginning of a 'life of suffering', everything from reliving their loved ones ordeal every day, to living with the guilt that maybe somehow you could have prevented it, to living with the stress of the reality that it could happen again, to even that painful decision of destroying the family unit by having to send loved ones out of the country for their own safety.
It must be truly frustrating for this group to watch everyone else carry on with life as usual while they suffer in silence.

It is " rumoured " that many of these so called " kidnapping victims " owed money to a High ranking and Skilled alleged " Drug Dealer " ( he was never ,ever,convicted of any drug dealing ) who loaned them million of dollars to open up businesses and when he was taken from the this life by the State they decided not to pay up and they were made to pay up what they owed by kidnappings ?

If you lived here you must have heard the rumours and must have heard it from police officers and people who should know of the validity of such things hence quite a lot ( not a few ) of the kidnappings were among people of a certain racial heritage ...is this true or not ...I do not know for sure because I do not know nor deal in such affairs.

A lot of the businessmen who had to send their children away ...are not some of them the ones who used to be accused of " forcing people's daughters to sleep with them " to keep the low paying with no benefit jobs in their places of business ? Are not some of them the ones who underpaid people to slave for them and over charged customers for inferior goods from CHINA ( only the Lord knows how much lead they dumped on us and are still dumping on us) and are they not the ones who holds and hides back the cheese ,cooking oil and chicken and rice ,to drive up the price ...and they do this with impunity ?

Galatians 6:7 None can escape it so are we seeing the " the wrath of the sons of those who " suffered under these very businessmen ?

Are not some of these ex pats the same ones who had to " flee " their country because of these very ,unscrupulous businessmen and women who seem to take " everything " and not even leave scraps for a vast majority of TNT Citizens of a certain racial background except the " handouts " by the PNM ?

Are not these the same people who will not hire anyone unless they were " red skin,light skined and had " good hair " which must not be " kinky hair " ?

Are not these " businessmen " armed to the teeth and can get a gun as easy as buying a sweet drink when Supt.Maharaj have to wait so long for a gun ?

To be quite frank and honest I do not support any kind of crime against any person reagardless of their social,racial or economic standing in TNT but I must confess when you ask who is bringing the drugs and the sophisticated weapons to this country and selling the guns to the criminals and the bullet proof vest and who is laudering the millions of dollars for the criminals and who is helping them to transport the drugs to The USA ,Canada and Europe,where the real money in drugs lie....I find it very,very,difficult to focus on their crime problems hence my focus is on the " ordinary " hard working and decent and upright TNT Republican.

Same here, except because the business demographic seems to be tarred with that very broad brush both by the criminals who victimize them, and by the police and community who again victimize them by their assumptions it is a no win situation for this group. As a result of this state of affairs, some business people have had to make those difficult decisions you listed. You should keep in mind that quite a few of those kidnapped victims were nothing more than 'hard working and decent and upright T&T Republicans' just trying to eek out a living.

Facts:

(1) Does anyone believe or have any tangible evidence that the Criminal Element in Laventille and Chaguanas and Central are capbale of importing the 9mm's,Glocks,Semi and Fully Automatic Rifles,AK-47's,Grenades.Mach-10's and Sub-Machine Guns along with the High Grade Bullet Proof vest and the correct ammunition which goes with the firearms ?

Arms and Ammunitions are always a logisticall problem for any Army because of the weight and yet Arms and Ammunition are easily obtained in TNT and we do not manufacture any in this country....how do they Get here ? The " dumbo criminal " from Laventille and Central ?
It seems to me one has to have import knowledge and contacts that will not talk and real savvy connections to achive that!

I am happy that the Police and the Immigration got involved and I do hope they have finger printed and photographed the Venezuelan and the Trinidad Perps and profiled them so they know their capabilities and the Venezuelan be never,ever,allowed to set foot in TNT ever again but of course we hope he heads for the USA,Canda and London ,with his precious cargo of coacaine to help fill the insatiable appetite of these people for cocaine and it is hoped he finds a way to by pass TNT and go straight there with his poison and he shares the way with all the stinking drug dealing bastards who uses our TNT as a transhipment port to the USA,Canada and London so that they will stop using here and we shall have placed a 96% dent into CRIME in TNT.
