View Full Version : Fetes on Christmas night
whats your take on fetes on christmas night...or any religious holiday 4 that matter?
is it acceptable? do u do it?
or is it just for the ppl who dont ascribe to the religion concerned?
This isn't a theocracy.
I think self-professed Christians who fete on Christmas night are shallow hypocrites at best, but I don't think they should be prohibited from doing it.

I guess people have different priorities, on christmas night I would prefer to be with family and friends, ina more intimate setting than a party, but to each his own. :|

Scorp, from the beginning of "my" family .. that is how it has always been. So couning all the years, this will be the 1st Christmas in 33 years it won't be like that .. however I will be spending Christmas and New Years day with siblings and their family. Old Years night we always go to Church.

i've been to a couple before...actually after the family hung out all day..some of the younger ones wanted to continue the festivities with some of their friends and together we all set out to a party...
see nothing wrong wit it...but family first...

free world as i last checked. i never went party xmas night cause i used to be liming wid my friends or home wid family. not because i had to but because it's a tradition to do so.
xmas holiday is man made if u want to celebrate the birth of Christ then do so, but doh make 25th december a day that everyman jack have to do so with u or they are wrong and shud be stoned. traditionally it's spent with family cause that is what we were all taught and we hate to break tradition for whatever various reasons. tradition is good but i doing me till i die. if i feel like going out to a party i will if i decide to stay indoors i will. my life my rules. frock the rest.
i was priviledged to have a white xmas here in london a few years ago and believe me, their is no transport or public parties (that i am aware of) so if u doh own a bike, bicycle car yuh tail stuck indoors anyways or hail a verrrrrrrrrrrrry expensive cab. the people here don't celebrate like we trinis but then they have their own traditions too. i rather xmas in trinidad any day. let the gluttony prevail. ;) and the hypocrisy of wishing the best to people yuh does cuss all year and will continue to cuss all year the next year.
