View Full Version : Weight Loss Clinics?
Quite a few people i know are turning to these weight loss clinics to help then shed those extra lbs.
I know for sure that some of these ppl who go to these clinics get really good results.
- One guy lost 80lbs 3yrs ago and has pretty much maintained his weight loss.
- A girl who also went to the same place lost 65lbs and now 3yrs later, she put on that 65lbs and 30lbs more :s:
- another girl i know going to a clinic for quite a few months and lost about 10lbs
Would you go to a weight loss clinic?

No.
I don't believe in diets or weight loss clinics. I believe for a person to lose weight and keep it they have to do it slowly by changing their lifestyle (eating habits and exercising).
VERY FEW people are willing to do it seriously and consistently.

i hear they does make you count calories and exercise. yuh supposedly have a daily intake and yuh not supposed to cross it. i know 2 ppl who went to one and lost weight. one was a guy who lost lots and lots of weight. one was a girl, who lost a little bit of weight. i know a third person who doing it now, but she eh see any tangible results yet...
I agree with you chica that its a lifestyle change but some people have now come to realize that they are not just overweight but obese and require a drastic change. Can't they use this avenue to help them get rid of the excess weight and have a change of lifestyle as well. I know the guy who lost the 80lbs tried many, many things - exercise, eating healthy, appetite suppressants, etc and he saw nothing! As a last resort he went to a clinic and the initial orientation (which was free) which caused him to sign up and lose the weight in 3-4mths. He is very happy with the weight loss that he monitors his weight and eats very healthy and even when he does eat unhealthy stuff its just once in a while. He no longer feels guilty of eating fatty foods if he feels like it but makes sure that he does not overdo it.
The girl on the other hand who lost the lbs and gained it back plus more says that she just could not stop herself from eating and rewarding herself for losing the weight. She went from obese to overweight and now back to obese. She feels worse than before because she feels that all her work went in vain and that she 'just let it get out of hand'.
Syl, from what i understand the one that my friends went to had to count their calories, pretty much eliminate all the carbs and NO exercise.
men lose weight easier than women eh

I went to Weight Watchers meetings several years ago and have successfully kept all the weight off that I lost (30 lbs) so I know those clinics work.
You have to be careful though, I only paid 15.00 a week for the meeting, I wouldn't pay more than that to lose weight, such as Jenny Craig (where you eat there overly priced frozen foods).
I incorporated healthy eating into my lifestyle and still workout almost every week, that to me is success, even if I'm not the weight I would like to be. Weight Watchers helped me to do this.....lose weight and keep it off.
Then again, it's all in the attitude, I know several ppl who lose the weight through this same program and within months stop and gained the weight back. Those are the ones looking for a quick fix, not a permanent lifestyle change.

VAIO, i can't respond from first hand knowledge, because there are 3 experiences i have never had. I was never Fat, i was never Ugly, and i was never Fat and Ugly. Maybe my good friend Mr. BZ could respond with his 'true' testimony.

So, I can eat and drink anything in any quantity and still barely stay above my minimum BMI and minimum body fat %. If I could find a way to bottle whatever it is in my genes that causes that and sell it, I'd be super rich, ent ?
