I need to get a book for my mummy. Her authors of choice include Alistair McClean (sp?), [early] Agatha Christie, Ian Fleming, and many others who's names have escaped me. I think we have every book these ppl ever wrote, or at least she's read all of them. Looking for new authors of the same genre - espionage, action, drama, mystery, thriller.

She does not do James Patterson, Dean Koontz (sp?), Stephen King and others of the same ilk. She is not interested in best sellers but ppl who have a great story and write it well. I've tried other authors but by the middle of the book she always knows who's the killer/betrayer/rat.

So, any suggestions?

Oh, and she also enjoyed the Harry Potter series but has no interest in human interest stories or romance.

Ahhh yes, Jeffery Archer is another one that she's been relatively pleased with and have have read most of his offerings. Sidney Sheldon is a no-no.
I'll look into Tamo Hoag. Thanks guys.
